I think this means that the triangle would need to be rotated so that the triangle would be in what is known as quadrant II ( at least I think it is quadrant II).

I think that I would perceive it as going backwards since the angle would be open and heading in the reverse direction. I think that this component is in the direction of motion

If you are facing in the direction of motion, then the line perpendicular to the direction of motion will run to your right and to your left. Is the component of the force perpendicular to the line of motion directed to the right or to the left?

I think that the component of the force perpendicular to the line of motion will be directed to the left. I think this is the direction that the motion will move in.

I think the object may veer off slightly to whichever side had the longest triangle leg, I think it would be in this direction because that angle would have the most force being exerted on it. I think that it will veer off slightly to the left.
