Does the period of a pendulum increase or decrease with length?

Measuring periods of pendulums with the restriction that amplitude cannot exceed 10% of the length, we seem to agree that period will increase with length.

Does the rate of increase of period with respect to length depend on length?

An average rate of change of A with respect to B is

ave rate = change in A / change in B

The 'rate of increase of period with respect to length' is the rate of change of period with respect to length; the word 'increase' merely indicates that we expect that the rate of change will be positive.

The phrase 'rate of change of period with respect to length' is closely related to 'average rate of change of period with respect to length', which by our definition would be

ave rate of change of period with respect to length = change in period / change in length

What was the period at each length? (period is time required for a complete cycle; you counted half-cycles for 10 seconds)

By how much did the period change between your two lengths?

What therefore was the average rate of change of period with respect to length?
