The problem:

A ball starts with velocity 4 cm/sec and ends with a velocity of 10 cm/sec.

• What is your best guess about the ball's average velocity?

answer/question/discussion: ->->->->->->->->->->->-> :

The balls average change in position would be 6cm but I am not sure how to explain the difference in the time both are in sec but neither has a change.

• Without further information, why is this just a guess?

answer/question/discussion: ->->->->->->->->->->->-> :

Because without more information such as the change in time of the object in motion it would be hard to find the actual average velocity.

• If it takes 3 seconds to get from the first velocity to the second, then what is your best guess about how far it traveled during that time?

answer/question/discussion: ->->->->->->->->->->->-> :

The change in position would be 6cm and the change in time would be 3sec so the vAve = 2cm/sec.

• At what average rate did its velocity change with respect to clock time during this interval?

answer/question/discussion: ->->->->->->->->->->->-> :

The vAve = 2cm/sec as stated above.
