Your 'ball down ramp' report has been received. Scroll down through the document to see any comments I might have inserted, and my final comment at the end.
Your general comment
Will a steeper ramp give greater or lesser time?
I think that the steepest ramp will be the greatest
As slopes increases will time intervals increase, decrease or show no pattern?
Their probably would be a pattern
Your report of 5 trials each way for 1 domino
.1 .1 .01 .001 .01 .001 .1 .1 .001 .01
These numbers are not possible. Human beings are physically incapable of triggering the TIMER at intervals this short. See my note in the Pearl Pendulum experiment related to the meaning of 'rounding', which I believe is the key here.
Your report of 5 trials each way for 2 dominoes
.002 .002 .01 .001 001 .01 .001 .002 .01 .002
Your report of 5 trials each way for 3 dominoes
.003 .03 .003 .002 .001 .001 .002 .01 .02 .03
Do your results support or fail to support your hypothesis about increasing or decreasing times?
No becuse they really follow a pattern
How do you think ave velocity is related to slope?
Becuse when it starts to go down that ramp it picks up speed causing the ball's velocity to really increase, so therefore you have a high speed.
Speculate on why ave velocity changes with slope.
they are going downhill so it is changing with every step that it takes
How could you test your speculations?
mainly it is common sense any time you put something in a sloped area it is going to speed up, change pace, or increase by all means.
Please see my note. Hopefully you still have your original data so you can simply resubmit this experiment with appropriate numbers. If not, you will need to redo the experiment and resubmit it. I'll be glad to answer questions if you have them.
