ball down ramp

Your 'ball down ramp' report has been received. Scroll down through the document to see any comments I might have inserted, and my final comment at the end.

** Your general comment **

** Will a steeper ramp give greater or lesser time? **

the steeper the slope the faster the ball is going to run.

** As slopes increases will time intervals increase, decrease or show no pattern? **

the time interval will be decreasing because if you make the slope greater the ball will be rolling faster making in the time shorter.

I took the ball and rolled it down the track going toward the left and the 1st 5 numbers are the times that i got. Then I reversed my directions and the 2nd 5 numbers are my times for when the ball started and when it hit the bracket. I was thinking the times her should be the slowest since it only has one domino under it and also the times might be different if the table isnt level when i reverse my direction.

I put 2 dominos under the ramp and the 1st 5 numbers are my times that it took for the ball to roll and hit the bracket then i reversed my direction and did the trials again and the 2nd set of numbers are the time intervals.

I put 3 dominos under the ramp and the 1st 5 numbers are my times that it took for the ball to roll and hit the bracket then i reversed my direction and did the trials again and the 2nd set of numbers are the time intervals

** Do your results support or fail to support your hypothesis about increasing or decreasing times? **

yes because the higher the slope was the faster the ball went down the slope so the time interval decreased as the slope rose.

** How do you think ave velocity is related to slope? **

the greater the slope the greater the average velocity so that means the slope is directly related to the slope.

** Speculate on why ave velocity changes with slope. **

I believe that it is gravity because the steeper the slope the more gravity is pulling in a downward motion and the flatter the slope the more it is pulling straight down.

** How could you test your speculations? **

I would check my physics book and see what it says exactly because since what I thought I said at first was true then I believe I am right.
