assignment 25

course phys 202

1.Explain how to find the potential difference in volts between two given points on the x axis, due to a given charge at the origin.- one can multiply the average force by the displacement (distance between two points). Also to find the average force one can find the force of one test charge at the two different points and averaging the two forces

2 Explain how to find the potential difference between two points given the magnitude and direction of the uniform electric field between those points.

- V=E*dr, which is the electric field (E) and the displacement (dr)

3. Explain how to find the average electric field between two points given a specific charge and the work done on the charge by the electric field as the charge moves between the points.

- F_ave = `dW / `ds formula will give one the average force from work and distance, then use E_ave = F / q to get an average elecric field from work and charge.

4. In your own words explain the meaning of voltage.

-voltage is the work that is done per charge unit that is moving the charge from one place to another
