** Your average time interval for 20 time intervals **

0.167188.

I counted the number of times 0.171875 occurred and multiplied it by that number, which happened to be 12. I did this for all my data, added up the numbers and divided by 20 to get the average.

** Your frequency distribution for the 20 time intervals (interval, number of times it was observed) **

.171875, 12

.15625, 7

.1875, 1

** Your general comment to this point **

** Why did you observe only certain time intervals? **

That frequency of that time is largerly dictated by the accuracy of the timer and by the way the program rounds the data. The timer program is not flawed or useless.

** What did you see when you looked at the differences between time successive time intervals? **

The diff. between data intervals from one to the next is generally around 0.0156 which seems to indicate that the margin of error for the timer is about +/-0.01sec.

** Your time intervals for 7 complete breaths: **

6.671875

6.796875

7.109375

7.5

7.34375

7.765625

7.6875

7.421875

7.515625

7.5

** Your general comment to this point: **

** Why did you rarely, if ever, observe that same time interval twice? **

The time intervals from breath to breath are much larger than those of fast clicks, and therefore, outside of the margin of error of the timer; not near the limits of the program.

** Do you think this program is accurate to .1 or .01 ... **

b. The TIMER program is capable of determining the time between two events accurately to within about .01 second.

** Copy of a few lines of your spreadsheet from the TIMER program. **
