PHet 8.7 Collision LabThis was an interesting simulation. KE seemed to be conserved throughout all of the collisions as long as the elasticity was up. As soon as I turned the elasticity down, it was like all the balls almost stopped.

Momentum is always conserved, whatever the elasticity.
A perfectly elastic collision is defined as one that conserves kinetic energy.
So your observations are very good.
