A ball falls freely from rest at a height of 2 meters. Observations indicate that the ball reaches the ground in .64 seconds.
• Based on this information what is its acceleration?
Well, based on what is provided, I am guessing that the acceleration of the ball falling above is .64 seconds.
• Is this consistent with an observation which concludes that a ball dropped from a height of 5 meters reaches the ground in 1.05 seconds?
It would probably be consistent because I am basing my observation on previous knowledge and the amounts given here. By using the value for acceleration of gravity, the information would be accurate to come to the assumptions above.
• Are these observations consistent with the accepted value of the acceleration of gravity, which is 9.8 m / s^2?
Yes, the values are consistent with how gravity can be used to come to formulated calculations.

It took me 15 minutes to do this exercise.

You need to calculate the acceleration in each situation before you can draw conclusions. You are given enough information in each to calculate the acceleration of the object.
