A typical automobile coasts up a typically paved incline, stops, and coasts back down to the same position.

When it reaches this position, is it moving faster, slower or at the same speed as when it began? Explain

answer/question/discussion:

As it moves up the incline, the friction would add to the negitave force of gravity on the car.

As it moves down the incline, the friction would subtract from the positive force of gravity on the car.

So I would have to say it is traveling slower when it reaches its beginning position.

Good. The same idea applies to your preceding 'seed' question.
