The problem:
A ball starts with velocity 4 cm/sec and ends with a velocity of 10 cm/sec.
What is your best guess about the ball's average velocity?
answer/question/discussion: ->->->->->->->->->->->-> (start in the next line):
My best guess is that the velocity of the ball is contatnly changing. There is not enough information here to know what
the real velocity is.
@& You can still make a best guess, even if you don't have a lot of confidence in it (for the very valid reasons you give).*@

Without further information, why is this just a guess?
answer/question/discussion: ->->->->->->->->->->->-> (start in the next line):
This is just a guess because we do not know enough information.
Is there a slope, how much does the ball weigh how far it was rolled.

If it takes 3 seconds to get from the first velocity to the second, then what is your best guess about how far it traveled during that time?
answer/question/discussion: ->->->->->->->->->->->-> (start in the next line):
I am not sure I can tell the ditance traveled just by knowing two different velocity's.

At what average rate did its velocity change with respect to clock time during this interval?
answer/question/discussion: ->->->->->->->->->->->-> (start in the next line):
We need to know the time that it took to travel in order to answer this question, also we need to know how far the ball traveled.

I spent about 10 mins on this question

@& With no other information the best guess would be that the aveage velocity is halfway between the first and second velocity.
Using this guess, please answer the questions and resubmit.*@
