An automobile rolls 10 meters down a constant incline with slope .05 in 8 seconds, starting from rest. The same automobile requires 5 seconds to roll the same distance down an incline with slope .10, again starting from rest.
At what average rate is the automobile's acceleration changing with respect to the slope of the incline?
answer/question/discussion: ->->->->->->->->->->->-> :
1st Round
Find the average velocity:
vAve= ‘ds / ‘dt
=10m/8s
=1.23m/s
Find final velocity:
vf= vAve * 2
=1.25m/s * 2
=2.5m/s
Find average acceleration:
aAve= ‘dv / ‘dt
=2.5m/s / 8s
=0.3125m/s^2
Divide the acceleration by the slope of the incline:
aAve/incline
=0.3125m/s^2 / 0.05

The rate of change of A with respect to B is (change in A) / (change in B).
It is not A / B.
So this calculation does not give you the rate of change of acceleration with respect to ramp slope.

=6.25

The units of the calculation =0.3125m/s^2 / 0.05 would be m/s^2. You give that result here without units.

2nd Round
vAve=2m/s
vf=4m/s
aAve=0.8m/s^2
aAve/incline
=8

My preceding note applies here as well.
How would you use your results for acceleration and slope to find the requested rate of change?

Most of your results are good, but you haven't correctly found the requested rate.
I believe you can correct this in just a few minutes.
