The problem:
A ball starts with velocity 4 cm/sec and ends with a velocity of 10 cm/sec.
• What is your best guess about the ball's average velocity?
answer/question/discussion: ->->->->->->->->->->->-> : The balls average velocity is 7 cm/sec
• Without further information, why is this just a guess?
answer/question/discussion: ->->->->->->->->->->->-> : This is a guess because I am not sure if the velocity is changing over time or in other words has an acceleration. If the velocity is changing at different rates then it could be at moving at a certain velocity for a longer duration of time and then change the average velocity, for example.
• If it takes 3 seconds to get from the first velocity to the second, then what is your best guess about how far it traveled during that time?
answer/question/discussion: ->->->->->->->->->->->-> : It traveled about 21 cm. ‘ds = vAve * ‘dt. ‘ds = 7cm/sec *3sec
• At what average rate did its velocity change with respect to clock time during this interval?
answer/question/discussion: ->->->->->->->->->->->-> : 2cm/sec/sec. 10cm/s – 4cm/s divided by 3 seconds.
you need to complete the division
