#$&* course PHY 201 4/28 about 10:45 am I completed PhET 6.14. This simulation made me realize the difficulty in maintaining the perfect orbit for the space station. When I varied the size of the earth just a little bit, the space station would either crash or become a very elliptical orbit. This shows how difficult it would be to maintain a perfect orbit around the earth. It was also amazing that the space station orbits the earth in less than 100 minutes. It also made me think of the possibilities of what could happen if for example, the sun lost some of its mass, and the earth would gain distance from the sun in its orbit, resulting in colder temperatures on earth. Pretty interesting.
