course PHY 241
Mr Smith, I have not been doing the experiments. I have not been able to purchase the experiment kit. I have the initial experiment kit and was wondering how far I could go with just that. I don't think I will be able to afford the kit until July due to my financial situation. Thank you for your time.

You can do quite a bit with what you have. Most of the experiments through Assignment 15 can be done with what you have, or can be adapted along lines similar to those I outline below.
In Assignment 5 you will have the two experiments
The Pearl Pendulum
Timing a Ball down a Ramp
You can adapt the instructions as follows (you'll need to see the instructions for those experiments to make send of the modifications):
The first can be done with the bead in your initial materials package that has the bit of string through the middle. You can tie a thread to one of the protruding strings. It can be bounced against a stack of dominoes. You'll have to rig something to support the top of the string, but that shouldn't be difficult.
The second can be done using your physics book as the ramp, and the large marble.
When you submit these, be sure to explain your setups. Some things will still need to be redone when you get your lab package.
