Ball Down Ramp ___ is motion s
The motions of my left-right and right-left were not symmetrical. The ball rolled down the ramp faster when the domino was under the left end of the ramp. There is always a chance for discrepancies. In my case, I placed my ramp on what I thought was a level surface. However, the building I was in, is located on land that is not level. After this experiment I tried setting the ball flat on the floor, and it rolled down the direction of the hill. Gravity would have pulled the ball down the ramp faster in one direction as long as that direction was not opposing gravity. Appearantly, when my domino was under the left side of the ramp, the position was more agreeable with the acceleration of gravity.
As more dominoes were placed under the ramp and steepness of the ramp slope increased, the velocity of the ball down the ramp increased as well. This was my hypothesis. Here is a sample of my data that supports this:
1 Domino: 1.703, 1.828, 1.750, 1.828, 1.703, 1.688, 1.750, 1.734, 1.703, 1.750
3 Dominoes:.938, .969, .906, .906, .938, .891, .859, .750, .828, .937
