IMPORTANT NOTE ON CHANGE IN GRADING POLICY:

Due to a change in Virginia Community College System policies, it will not be possible for your instructor to give extensions in the time required to complete your work for the semester, without documented circumstances to justify the extension (e.g., documented illness, accident, death of a close relative, etc.. ).

It was for a long time the instructor's policy to allow such extensions, especially during the 10-week Summer Term when there is little time for the material in some courses to really 'sink in'.

It is not possible to be certain that all references to the previous policy have been eliminated from these webpages.  It is therefore possible that you will at some point encounter language indicating the previous policy. 

By this note you are informed that the policy stated above went into effect starting Summer Term 2010 and that the previous policy is superceded by the policy described here.
