BOOKSTORE MANAGER
For the convenience of the students and faculty, Follett Higher Education
Group operates the VHCC Bookstore which is physically housed in the Southwest
Virginia Higher Education Center facility on the VHCC campus. The bookstore
Business Manager reports to the Regional Manager, Sales & Operations, at Follett
but remains in constant contact with the Vice President of Financial and
Administrative Services (VP of F&AS) and has responsibilities including the
following:
1. All aspects of bookstore management and for assuring a positive impact
financially, institutionally, and publicly.
2. Developing direct and responsive relations with the current partner
colleges/universities of the Higher Education Center as well as VHCC students,
faculty, and staff.
3. Functioning as liaison between Follett Higher Education Group and all partner
colleges/ universities.
4. Providing first-line responsibility for customer service inquiries and
issues.
5. Directing, scheduling, training, and counseling staff in all activities and
coordination of the textbook adoption process with the faculty of all partner
colleges/universities.
6. Following policies and procedures of VCCS and VHCC regarding textbook
purchases and sales. Encouraging use of used textbooks where applicable.
Educating students and faculty in ways to reduce textbook costs.
7. Fulfilling such other functions as may be designated by Follett or the VP of
F&AS (with the approval of Follett).
