Energy Committee

Purpose(s): The purpose of the Energy Committee is to increase awareness of energy conservation and propose potential avenues to Virginia Highlands Community College that would yield an energy savings and enlist employees and students in partnership to become more energy conscious.

Matters for consideration by this committee may be referred to the committee by the President of the College or by any member of the committee.

Membership: The Energy Committee shall consist of the following:

• Vice President of Financial and Administrative Services
• Vice President of Workforce Training and Continuing Education
• Associate Professor of Energy Technology
• One (1) Academic Counselor
• One (1) member of Buildings and Grounds Department
• One (1) member of Information Technology Department
• Two (2) faculty members recommended by the Faculty Affairs Committee
• One (1) administrative faculty member
• One (1) student in Energy Technology Program

The committee shall select a chairman and secretary from among its membership.

Meeting Schedule: In order to get this committee organized each year, the Vice President of Financial and Administrative Services shall call its initial meeting as soon as possible after membership has been determined. Subsequent meetings shall be at the call of the chairman. A minimum of one meeting per semester is to be held.
