COORDINATOR OF PROJECT EXCEL
This position is funded completely by Federal funds, and will come to an end
upon termination of Federal funding. The Coordinator of Project EXCEL reports
directly to the Vice President of Instruction and Student Services and has
responsibilities including the following:
1. Administering the Title IV Federal TRIO Student Support Services project
including supervising staff, preparing appropriate reports, forms, and
applications related to the project; and disbursing funds.
2. Coordinating with other segments of the College to meet the participants'
needs and the goals and objectives of the project.
3. Developing cultural enrichment and awareness opportunities for participants.
4. Developing in-service training programs for project staff and students.
5. Disseminating information related to the project to participants and other
appropriate persons and offices.
6. Representing the project at the appropriate meetings and on the appropriate
committees.
7. Providing academic, personal, transfer, and career counseling to project
participants.
8. Writing the Student Support Services Federal TRIO grant; completing the
Annual Performance Report to the U.S. Department of Education; and writing
Project EXCEL’s End of the Year Report.
9. Interpreting and complying with Federal regulations and Federal legislation.
10. Designing and implementing a yearly comprehensive evaluation of the project
using cohort groups to assess the effectiveness of the project and to ensure the
success of the project and the participants it serves.
