COORDINATOR OF EDUCATIONAL TALENT SEARCH/UPWARD BOUND
The Coordinator of Educational Talent Search/Upward Bound reports directly to
the Vice President of Instruction and Student Services. Responsibilities include
the following:
1. Designing and implementing strategies to achieve program objectives and
promoting educational opportunities to serve low income and first generation
middle, high school and college-age students.
2. Publicizing Educational Talent Search and Upward Bound goals, services, and
accomplishments.
3. Recruiting, employing, training, supervising, and evaluating program staff.
4. Ensuring program compliance with grant regulations and guidelines.
5. Maintaining appropriate records and reporting program outcomes to the U.S.
Department of Education.
6. Planning and managing the program budget.
7. Establishing and maintaining adequate data collection.
8. Ensuring the development of an effective evaluation system to measure the
impact of the program; maintaining summative evaluations and disseminating
evaluations to the administration and to the U.S. Department of Education.
9. Preparing all federal proposals, narratives, and fiscal reports related to
program.
10. Representing program interests on appropriate college committees.
11. Reviewing the academic status of all program participants.
12. Seeking and securing positive relationships with area school districts and
other educational institutions.
13. Performing such other duties as may be deemed appropriate by the Vice
President of Instruction and Student Services.
Fifty percent of time and effort is spent on the administration of each program.
