Vice President of Workforce Training for VHCC and WCC
The Vice President of Workforce Training and Continuing Education is responsible to the
President. Specific responsibilities include the following:
- Provides leadership and oversight of all non-credit training at VHCC and WCC.
- Provides leadership and oversight to Coordinators/Directors of workforce training.
- Supervise and evaluate direct report staff.
- Serves at institutional liaison to external business and appropriate community organizations and responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationship with each.
- Responsible for oversight of marketing, management, and assists in curriculum design of corporate training that serve employer’s needs. Supervises instructional and training programs provided for area business and industry.
- Develop and maintain effective partnerships with businesses and industries in the identification of training needs.
- Manage operational procedures for non-credit programs including oversight of implementation of WES system.
- Provide leadership for and coordinate student and faculty recruitment.
- Conduct workforce development research and analysis.
- Responsible for data collection and reporting to VCCS and colleges.
- Coordinate the annual and long range departmental planning and evaluation process.
- Maintain currency in and enforce college policies and procedures as well as stat regulations related to areas of responsibility.
- Seek and partner with colleges for grant funding sources related to areas of responsibility.
- Serve as the College’s liaison with the local workforce development boards, chambers, and other economic development officials in service areas.
- Cultivate partnerships and coordinate with Institutional Advancement at both Colleges.
- Attend regional, state-wide, and national meetings in order to maintain professional growth.
- Prepares and administers the workforce training budgets.
