Unpacking your Initial Lab Materials

DO NOT STRETCH THE RUBBER BANDS!!!!

Your initial lab materials consists of the following:

• a marble,
• paper clips,
• rubber bands,
• a washer,
• a page containing rulers and a page containing copies of protractors,
• a styrofoam rectangle,
• a small colored bead,
• two fake pearls on a string,
• three small pieces of wood (one about an inch or two wide and about 3 inches long, the other two an inch or two long, maybe half an inch wide and 3/4 of an inch thick) and
• an empty plastic bag.

Keep these materials together.  You will use them in several of your intial experiments.

The four rubber bands have been marked using a permanent marker with 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4 black lines so you can tell them apart. 

You will receive specific instructions for experiments to be done using these materials.
