Weight is ...

Weight is the force exerted by gravity on a mass.  Mass is measured in grams or kilograms.  Weight is not measured in grams or kilograms.  Weight is measured in Newtons (and also, in the British system which we don't use in physics, in pounds).

Pounds are like Newtons.  They both measure weight.

Pounds are not like kilograms.  Pounds measure weight and kilograms measure mass.

Weight and mass aren't the same thing.

Remember:  Weight is measured in Newtons, not in kilograms.  It's mass that's measured in kilograms.
