Assignment 11
We investigate the effects of different types of force, and how the various forces acting on an object combine to give the net force. We define work and energy. You will time a rotating object for a number of intervals as it coasts to rest.
In the introductory problem sets we distinguish between forces exerted on an object and the associated forces exerted by the object.
qa problems explore the effects of forces, including frictional forces, in the context of the Atwood machine the inclined plane.
The 'seed' problem addresses the distinction between the net force on an object and forces applied to the object.
The lab exercise consists of timing a rotating strap at 180-degree intervals, as it coasts to rest.
class notes
Text content and problems are focused on uniformly acceleration motion, with emphasis on the motion of a freely falling object, and on graphical analysis of uniformly accelerated and nonuniformly accelerated motion.
