The lab exercise detects and analyzes the deflection of a steel ball moving past a ceramic magnet and the dependence of the magnetic force on proximity to the magnet.

Class Notes address the changing gravitational force experienced by an individual climbing a very high tower, and the calculation of the gravitational force using proportionality, the known radius of the Earth and the known acceleration at the surface of the Earth.
