5.11 Faculty Responsibility for Course Development and Implementation

5.11.0 Course Development

Curriculum and course development is a continuing part of each faculty member's responsibility. Each faculty member is responsible for assuring that courses and curricula are current.

5.11.1 Academic Standards

5.11.1.0 Examinations

Examinations should:

  • Relate directly to the course goals and objectives.
  • Represent a positive influence on student progress.
  • Differentiate among levels of student achievement.

5.11.1.1 Academic Honesty

Cheating and plagiarism are forms of dishonesty and are subject to disciplinary procedures as outlined in the Student Code of Conduct.


5.11.1.2 Standards of English Usage

Instructors in all courses will normally require students to present written work periodically. Such work should be on a level commensurate with standards of acceptable English usage.

Teaching faculty are expected to meet class regularly and hold the class for the full period.

Each faculty member is expected to provide all grade reports and other items by the due dates specified.
